Iran 'reserves all options' after US missile strike

(NewsNation) — Iran's foreign minister said it was not ruling anything out after the United States attacked three nuclear facilities.

“Iran reserves all options to defend its security, interests and people,” Abbas Araghchi said at a news conference in Turkey on Sunday.

“Humanity has come too far as a species to allow a lawless bully to take us back to the law of the jungle,” he added.

Araghchi reiterated his country's nuclear program was not working toward a weapon, and called the United States' attack "outrageous, grave and unprecedented."

“Iran has done nothing wrong,” he said. “We don’t understand why we should be attacked.”

The U.S. and Israel maintain that Iran's programs were enriching uranium beyond what would be necessary for electricity, though the U.S. intelligence community is split on how close Iran is to a weapon.

Araghchi said Trump's attack also amounted to a campaign promise broken, since Trump has pushed for peace.

But Trump says any attempt by Iran to retaliate would be met with "force far greater than what was witnessed tonight."
