Andrew Tate, 39, posted a video on his X account at around 1.30am on Saturday, showing himself and his brother, Tristan, 36, in the city’s nightlife district Lan Kwai Fong, surrounded by men who greeted and snapped photos with the two criminal suspects.

The post was captioned: “The last superhero. Top G,” referring to a slang term popularised by Andrew Tate to describe himself as a “high-value” man. The self-proclaimed misogynist has built a massive online following, including more than 11 million followers on X.

A video posted on Sunday shows him on a luxury yacht in Victoria Harbour smoking a cigar, and another shows him apparently singing karaoke in a room surrounded by about a dozen women.

Videos and photos of the two brothers also circulated among Hong Kong netizens on Threads, sparking debate between their supporters and critics who denounced the influencers over their misogynistic beliefs and the charges they face.

Hong Kong solicitor David Fenn and jewellery entrepreneur Michael Liu were among those who snapped selfies with the Tates. “Welcome TopG to HKG,” Fenn wrote, while Liu said, “TopG in HKG.”

Hours later, Liu, who served as a judge in last year’s beauty pageant Miss International Hong Kong, also posted a video of himself with Andrew Tate on a yacht.

Hong Kong influencer Hailey Cheng on Friday listed the charges against the Tates on Threads, saying that Andrew’s appearance had “baited out all the beta males/incels.”

She also posted a video in which Tate described violent acts against women. “This is a reminder to everyone in Hong Kong,” she wrote.

Romanian authorities charged the Tate brothers in June 2023 with human trafficking and forming and organising a crime group to exploit women. The older Tate is also accused of rape.

In August 2024, they faced new allegations in Romania, including sex with a minor and trafficking underage persons.

UK authorities authorised 21 charges against the brothers in May 2025, including rape and human trafficking charges.

The two have denied all allegations.

The Tates entered the US in February last year after Romanian prosecutors lifted a travel ban while legal proceedings were still ongoing, reportedly due to pressure from the Trump administration.

Some Hong Kong netizens questioned why the brothers were allowed into the city, considering the charges they face. The brothers were in Dubai last week, according to media reports.

Hong Kong “really is a haven for fugitives,” one user commented on Fenn’s post. “There’s no conviction,” the solicitor replied. “Innocent until proven guilty.”

HKFP has reached out to the Immigration Department and the Tourism Board for comment.

Andrew and Tristan Tate are key figures in the “manosphere,” an umbrella term for online communities that claim to address men’s struggles, ranging from topics such as fitness and financial discipline to misogynistic beliefs and opposition to feminism.
