BALTIMORE, Md. (DC News Now) -- An investigation is underway after six people, including a 5-year-old girl, were shot in Baltimore on Saturday night, according to police.

Officers were called to the shooting at the intersection of Spaulding and Queensberry avenues at around 8:45 p.m., Baltimore Police Department Commissioner Richard Worley said during a press conference. At the scene, police found six people who had been shot.

Responders took all six people, including four men, one woman and the 5-year-old girl, to area hospitals for treatment. Worley said the victims' ages range from 23 to 52, not including the child.

The 5-year-old girl was shot in her hand, and her injuries do not appear to be serious; however, one of the men, a 38-year-old, was taken to the hospital in critical condition, where he died Sunday morning, according to police.

The four other victims sustained non-life-threatening injuries.

Worley said little information is known at this time; however, "it just looked like some people were sitting outside on a porch, and up against a vehicle having some crabs" when someone opened fire, firing multiple rounds in the residential area.

As a result of the shooting investigation, several streets in the area were closed to the public Saturday night.

Investigators urge anyone with information to call 1-866-7LOCKUP (866-756-2587).
