(NewsNation) — The Rose Garden at the White House is all primed and ready after getting a Mar-a-Lago makeover.

The Rose Garden renovations began earlier this summer, months after President Trump took office and discussed plans to rip up one of the White House's most iconic locations and put in a hard surface to serve as a patio.

"They are literally the umbrellas from Mar-a-Lago," White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt said on Tuesday of the new decor. "The roses remain untouched."

Other renovations include the addition of gilt cherubs, Rococo mirrors and medallions gleaming with theatrical flair. All of the changes were made to align with Trump's signature taste.

Trump and his wife, Melania, during his first tenure as president, also renovated the garden to pay homage to its original design in 1962.

When asked if the First Lady was pleased with the latest renovation, Leavitt said, "I believe so."

Trump has hinted that the first White House party on the new patio would be for the press.
